To understand Bharat Mata ki Jai we first need to understand who is Bharat-Mata.
Bharat-Mata means the land ⎯ the trees, farms, dense jungles in it, the clouds, the rivers, sea or the mountains but it would not be complete without You and Me. The Bharat-Mata is meaningless without its citizens. The most valuable part of it is the public spread within its boundaries ⎯ from Kashmir in the North to Kanyakumari in the South and from Kachchh in the West to Arunachal in the East. So, the identity of Bharat-Mata is its ~1.3 billion children & each one of us has himself a Bharat-Mata within him/her.
Hence, Bharat-Mata ki Jai means the victory of all citizens of the Republic of India.
It is our duty to defend, not only defend but to be aggressive in case prestige or reputation of our Bharat-Mata is at stake.
